ooops didnt mean to post the last one right away....
Every night we have been going to a place called Save the Street Children of Uganda. It has been amazing!! they danced and played traditional African drums for us. The next couple nights they taught me how to lay their drums, and everybody else how to do the dances.
We went to Gulu a couple days ago. It was so crazy. We went to an IDP camp. That stands for Internal Displacement Camp. Pretty much it is a place where they would send people during the war. Praise Jesus that they are actually sending people away from them after 20 years.
Then was one of the most fun parts of our trip. SAFARI!!! We stayed in the nicest hotel I have ever been in. It was HECKA SICK in the words of the kids from Cali we met there. We saw lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my!!! I'm just kidding about the last two :) it was so much fun!
Today we went to the markets. I got all the little things for people that I was going to get! I'm also super stoked about the djembe i got for just under 18 US dollars. idk how I'm gonna get it on the plane but I'll figure it out.

About our Journey
TeensServe began in 2008 after Rodney and Clarissa Davidson took their 9 children to Uganda, Africa. When returning to the states, they began to see many teens show an interest in serving and getting out of themselves and especially an interest in Africa. Rodney continued to hear God say the word "mobilize" and realized that God was wanting to give teenagers in Little Rock more opportunities to serve Him in the city and in Africa.
For the last year teens have been serving widows in the city doing small and large jobs and taking meals. Those projects and "trips" will be happening off and on throughout the year and then in the summers the "BIG" trip happens....AFRICA!!
That's what this blog is about and for. June 11th, 19 teens and 6 adults will be flying across the seas to Uganda, Africa to work in the slums of Kampala, ministering to mainly orphans and also widows for a week. The second week they will be going to Gulu, the war torn town where the Invisible Children video was filmed to work in a little orphanage and visit a containment camp.
God has blessed this team with some of the most passionate, amazing teens who are SO excited about this trip. They are truly recklessly abandoned for Jesus! We believe they are the mighty warriors God is raising up to fight for Him in the battle.
So in this blog the team will be sharing stories along the way and you can write your prayers and words of encouragement to them. We thank you in advance for your prayers.

Shannon, It's so amazing to hear what is going on there. I still can't really even believe you are there. You saw the Nile River. How many times have we read about tthat in school?? I hope you are gettign your face in lots of pictures because we can't wait to see them. We miss you tons and can't wait to hear about your experience there. God is good--all the time! Love, Mom
