They're Off!!

The Africa Adventure team is officially on their way to Uganda! Check in went surprisingly well for such a large group!! Other than a few forgotten items....pillows and puppets and such....the team got checked in and headed to their terminal in record time.

First we had a sweet time of prayer over the team.

Then came the tears.

The team flew from Little Rock to Houston and then from Houston to Amsterdam. They are currently in flight to Uganda and should arrive around 11:55 am CST (that'll be 7:55 pm in Uganda).

I found a great website http://www.timezoneconverter.com/. It makes it a cinch to see what time it is right now in Uganda (they are 8 hours ahead). When using the time converter Little Rock is considered America/Chicago.

Please feel free to leave comments for your team member to see when they are able to access the internet and post for the first time.

Oh Kate I gave Annie a picture of you and her, and started crying so hard, and then when we were leaving the airport, a plane was flying away, and Annie starting screaming "No Katelyn don't leave me!!" But now she can't wait to see you, and FINALLY stopped crying :) I love and miss you, and have been praying for you!

p.s. at youth group, Mr. Mcmurry asked who would pray for you, and only me and Isaac said we would, but then when we were praying Mr. Mcmurry, stopped and prayed for you...I couldn't pray because i started tearing up. But i pray for you everyday :)

YEA!!!You are there!!!We miss you already.
Mikayla and Emma are having a good time. Tuesday we played on the McDonald's playgroud (and ate a happy meal as well) played at two different neighborhood parks, met all the DeLay animals and especially enjoyed playing with the bunny, Shannon gave manicures and we went to Charlotte's web at FBC.This moring we went to Krispy Kreme and then to the store to get the right kinds of cereal, Wheaties and Captain Crunch with crunch berries (guess who picked which) We swam at the Marlow Manor pool( which your girls know as Logan's pool)until thunder ran us off.We came home, got into PJ's, popped popcorn and played UNO while it rained.Rick took them to Purple Penguin tonite while I worked at church. The girls are getting along wonderfully. Shannon has had a friend spend the night last night and a different one again tonite. She is enjoying having younger "sisters" to show off. You should see Mikayla right now, Meg and Shannon did a makeover on her..She is in one of Shannon's dresses with a new hairdo and make-up on. I asked her what her mom would think of her in make-up... she giggled. I promise not to let her leave the house in it :D

All our love to the entire team, especially my sweet Shelby.I thought of her today as I unloaded the dishwasher.I decided I couldn't leave her chores for her until she gets home. Dishes might stack up a little :)

We're praying daily for the team and can't wait to hear all the stories when you return.

Hey Parker and Team Africa, we have been thinking of you non-stop and are SO excited that you are now actually living out this amazing opportunity. Parker, please try to remember EVERYTHING 'cause you know how I love details.

The Cousins are here and we all miss you being in the mix! In fact, it hit me the most that you were gone when they all came in and we were hugging everyone.

Guess what? Rusty thinks he may have broken a toe today at HP!

Be careFUL and have fun! ;)

Love,
Mom

Hey Kayla,
We miss you so much, but know you are where you most want to be. Guess what?!? Yep, your toms arrived on Friday. Me and Anna are going to break them in for you. I went to Starbucks yesterday, and told the lady that you would be in Africa for three weeks, she looked really sad. I think she is really going to miss you. We love you so much and are so proud of you. We are praying for you and the whole team. Remember to be Jesus' hands and feet. Love you so much, Mom

Dear Katelyn
We love and we miss you! The tears have FINALY stopped! I got your text. Thanks! It's weird to not be able to talk or text with you when I want. Josh went to DisneyLand yesterday! But I'd rather be in Uganda :) I read Psalm 25 this morning. Verses 4 and 5 made me think of you. I'm praying that God will give you clear direction for your future. We love you and we are praying for you and the team throughout each day.

Love
Mom

Shelby, got the texts...I'll find a doc at church and ask about the pills...I'm wondering if taking them with the evening meal would be better so you at least aren't trying to work while feeling badly.

Hey friends of this amazing team... PRAY... Shelby's malaria meds are making her really ill.We need devine intervention here... can't allow Satan to use this to hold my precious girl back from doing work for the Kingdom..

Shelby!! It's Tina-Your Aunt. Tyler and I are praying for you. I think Randy is too or he may just be napping. You know God hears the prayers of babies! So I know you are going to get better soon. I want you to hold on to those little babies and love on them and kiss their little cheeks. Tell them one hug and kiss is from Aunt Tina! If Tyler were there he would just play and play with them. I am proud of you and your team. I can't wait to hear all about your mission when you get home.
I love you...be safe and try to enjoy every second.
Tina
